Our mighty W18s go top!

Brookies W (for wonderful) 18s ladies have stormed to the top of the table in dramatic fashion after a sensational 4–3 victory over previously unbeaten Wakehurst on Friday night.

Under the lights and with everything to play for, Brookvale came out firing, stunning the top-ranked visitors with a blistering opening that saw us surge to a deserved 3–0 lead. The crowd was buzzing as every one of our girls played with confidence, flair, and real determination. But Wakehurst weren’t about to go down without a fight. The visitors clawed their way back into the game, netting three quick goals in ten minutes to level the scores with just 5 minutes left on the clock.

With nerves jangling and the game on a knife’s edge, Brookvale won a free kick just outside the box. Up stepped one of our amazing new recruits, Summer, who calmly unleashed an absolute rocket. 4–3 Brookvale, and pandemonium on the field, on the sidelines, and in pizza shops from Manly to Avalon!

It was a match that had everything: drama, momentum swings, standout performances, and most importantly—a result that sees our W18s leapfrog Wakehurst to take pole position on the ladder. A huge congratulations to the players and coach Danny on a thrilling win that won’t soon be forgotten.
